Layering double exposed pictures in the darkroom I'm looking at the allegorical powers of animated statues, evocative landscapes and constraining urban patterns. Using motion and double exposures I'm engaging with the changing and unstable nature of existence, which clashes with the human attempts to contain it. I'm giving a psychological insight on the condition of contemporary man, having to deal with a constant pressure and constraint of an over-structured society. Taking a distorted series of images at statues of old myths combining them with abstracted landscapes and urban patterns, focusing on the juxtaposition of the most defining duality of mankind: Order and chaos
This way, by opening a dialogue with the past, I'm engaging with a timeless set of feelings towards nature and the universe.
